FOTN

Recording previously as Fletch, Strata, Sundogs and Phoenix; FOTN has been involved in electronic music for almost 20 years. Starting off as a DJ in 1998 he really cut his teeth playing at legendary Golden after parties around year 2000. In 2001 he studied Studio Engineering Techniques at the Manchester School of Sound Recording and shortly after began learning how to produce his own music.

In 2004 he met fellow producer Spencer Hickson who would become a very frequent collaborator on a number of projects, the first of which was a Fletch remix of Spencer's Oakenfold classic: Desyfer - 831. Their next collaboration was the immensely successful update of Spencer and Scott Latham's 'Phoenix - Rise Up', the classic Sasha opener from 1995. The new remixes were hammered around the world by a wide range of DJs including John Digweed, Dave Seaman, Anthony Pappa, James Grant and the track was featured on John Digweed's Essential Mix live from the Warehouse Project.

During this time FOTN's solo tracks and remixes caught the ear of the Anjunadeep team including Jaytech and label boss James Grant who featured his tracks in live sets around the world and on the Radio Shows Anjunadeep Worldwide and Above and Beyond's Trance Around the World, leading to Fletch being asked to remix one of Above and Beyond's own tracks: 'Oceanlab - Miracle'.

The next collaboration with Spencer Hickson - Sundogs, led to a release on Brown Eyed Boyz records of Sundogs' debut track ‘Primary Key’. The track featured on Pete Tong’s Bedroom Bedlam Chart, Proton Radio and ranked in the Fast Trax Show and received support from Jaytech, James Grant, Marcus Klay, Hisham Zahran, Tiernan O’Neil & Mark Landragin.  But Sundogs' 2010 colossal club success should be attributed to none other than ‘Circumzenithal Arc’, described by Dave Seaman as ‘one big tune…setting floors alight all over the world’, Sundogs ‘Circumzenithal Arc’ became a tongue-twisting set favourite at Privilege/Ibiza & Eleven Club/Tokyo.

During this time FOTN continued to tour the UK, playing gigs in London, Oxford, Bristol and his native Manchester and ran a very popular monthly podcast - Digital Republic.

His next collaboration with Spencer was an exclusive commissioned piece for the Yell.com TV advertising campaign. They created a track that paid homage to the 90s sound they'd grown up with for an update of the iconic yellow pages ad ‘Fly Fishing by J.R.Hartley’. Released by Yell’s spoof label, Found Records, the track sold more than 6,000 copies. In week 1 of the track’s release it hit the top 10 of iTunes dance chart, received airplay on national radio stations including Nemone on BBC’s Radio 6, XFM’s Eddy Temple-Morris and Annie’s Mac’s/Radio 1’s Big Weekend and was picked up to be included onto Ministry of Sounds 2011 compilation album ‘Back to the Old Skool’.

His next collaborations included a two-track EP with Dutch producer Sven Hauck which was picked up by Baroque Records and a Sundogs remix of 'Mountain Folk - Don't go down there' which was licenced to be included as the top billed track on the Sound of Copenhagen compilation.

After moving around and a brief hiatus from music, FOTN is now back in the studio with a brand new monthly radio show 'Sound Flight Sessions' and several new productions. First off his recent two-track EP has been signed by legendary label Global Underground with the track 'Celeste' being featured on the recent Global Underground 'TWENTY' compilation album and the track 'Sky Marching' featured on the latest Global Underground Select #2 compilation. Two more exclusive productions will be featured in the upcoming Global Underground Electric Calm album coming out this year. In addition his latest remix of Phoenix - Rise up has been doing serious damage in the clubs with support from Guy J, Chris Fortier, Ian Dillon, Anthony Pappa, Luke Santos, Jeremy Olander, Frankey & Sandrino, Dosem, Flash Brothers, Cid Inc and more.
